Anil Kumble is India's next Test Captain

After much deliberation, the BCCI has put the legendary spinner in the hot seat. Kumble, of course, is India's next test captain and the decision seems to have got everyone's approval. The announcement was made by the BCCI joint secretary M P Pandove just a few minutes before midnight and the Chairman of the Selection Committee Dilip Vengsarkar was not present to take queries from the media.

According to Kiran More, Former Chairman of Selectors, "He's low-profile, yet he brings so much of aggression."

One of India's biggest match-winners, Kumble alongwith his superb CV, commands the respect of both seniors and juniors. And though split captaincy is a first for the team, no one doubts that Kumble will bring through Indian cricket to the next level.

The selectors were put in a dilemma after Sachin Tendulkar, who was tipped to be the captain of the Test team, turned down the offer two days back and suggested that a "youngster" be given the reins of the side.
